Peggy Helbling's Garden What You've Got
Peggy Helbling's Garden What You've Got
I started my adventure in Vermiculture in the summer of 2009 with 2,000 Red Wigglers and a Can-O-Worms. I live in Windermere. Florida and bought the whole "package" from a near-by Worm Breeder called "Worm's Way." I did it originally to lessen the kitchen scraps I was throwing away and to improve my soil. I didn't realize how raising worms would become a wonderful hobby to go hand-in-hand with Gardening.
In 2020 I started a YouTube Channel called "Peggy Helbling's Garden What You've Got" in hope of sharing the many tips on using and reusing in the house and in the garden. And with us being homebound I started raising worms in other containers that I didn't buy as Worm bins or huts. I have 1 Can-O-Worms, two waist-high oblong planter bins, one three-gallon tote and two shoebox bins. I never realize that fun it is to play with my slippery little friends while sending less and less food, paper and leaves off on trash day. And what a wonderful gift they give me in return. I can harvest Castings and make aerated Worm Tea year-round. I live in Windermere, Florida and that's one 9B. I can garden 12 months in each year and use my Casting and Tea while they are fresh.
I can't tell you what a fun adventure this has been and I'm 72. I only wish I had learned about raising worms at 21 when I began gardening. I'm also glad that I started a YouTube channel because that's where I met Captain Matt. I really appreciate the amount of love and knowledge that you share. You truly are a blessing to us all. Thanks Matt.
Keeping on Growin'!!
