Uh, I seem to have an issue. I recently purchased an extra thousand Red Wigglers to add to my breeding bins so I can start selling.
After close observation, I realized my original worms aren't Red Wigglers. They are less active, fatter (might just be fed longer), and shorter then the Red Wigglers I got.
I looked-up the seller again and apparently he is selling them under California Red Worms. Which when I looked up is still Eisenia Fetida, but labeled under fishing worms and said to eat twice their body weight every day. So I don't know I can trust that source or not though, here is the link.
So I just don't get it. The alleged Californians aren't as skinny as the others, aren't as red, have seemingly bigger cocoons so far, but are labeled under Eisenia Fetida.
I see two possibilities with what I can do with this.
1: Use the Californians in Fisherman kits and stuff and the Wigglers for composting kits, labeling the alleged Californians as Fishing worms.
2: Just assume they are both Red Wigglers and see what happens as they grow.
Anyone else have any experience with this sort of thing? Anything I should do about it? I'll appreciate any help!
