Hi
Just a few lines to say I am relatively new to this niche, but have owned a farm for over 20 years. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 4 years ago, so I have been considering a new hobby that might generate an income and local interest.
My previous 20 years have been spent motor racing, with my youngest son, mostly in the UK championships, but some European rounds. Now I can’t drive out articulated car transporter, I need a change of environment. I started with no-dig raised beds and foot square planting, then into hot composting and this year added worms and Biochar to my portfolio of interests.
I had a successful food retail chain, which I sold in 2000 to the largest UK retailers. Before that I was a Chartered Accountant advising clients, so I have an MBA, and an other post graduate degree in Education to support my professional qualifications. I have just completed my first assessments for a Horticulture degree, distance learning with the RHS. We have been studying worms for the past 10 weeks, so I have all the course material on hand to cover most of the theoretical areas. It’s been fun and I hope I can learn more about the practical aspects of this work by sharing our thoughts and knowledge.
Kind regards
Rob
