Hi Peeps,
So, I decided to set up a breeder bin for my ANC's a few weeks ago as I wanted to see if I could actually spot cocoons. I followed the general rule of thumb that I had heard from other Worm farmers with the whole 21 Days incubation period etc. I was surprised to see on day 22 that there were baby worms in the bin already. Thanks to the kindness of one of my viewers, he told me the reproduction rate for ANC's is actually 14 days, and the wigglers and euros were 21. He then gave me the secret formula I've been searching for these past couple months. The bedding to chow pre-mix ratio so you can set them and leave them. Here goes...
This is a per Gallon recipe for the bedding. Increase as needed.
1 Gallon Peat Moss
3/4 cups Worm chow
4 cups water
If you're breeding wigglers, 250 worms per gallon. If it's ANC's or Euros, 100 worms.
I had already set my bin but I had mixed some chow into the bedding. Not as much as he had said but I'll be trying this from the get go when I reset next week. I hope you guys find this useful
